Youth Theater Camps in the Klamath Basin
Ross Ragland Theater offers multiple theater camps filled with games, acting, music, movement, and hands-on arts experiences designed to develop skills used in the performing arts while having fun. Scholarships and multi-student discounts are available to help make camp participation accessible to more families.
Youth Summer Theater Camp (Dr. Dolittle Jr.)
This three-week, all-day summer camp immerses students in every aspect of theater production, culminating in a fully staged musical on the Ross Ragland Theater stage. Participants can perform on stage or explore behind-the-scenes roles including tech, costumes, sets, sound, video, improv, and stage management, with a special business-side internship option available for high school juniors and seniors. Dr. Dolittle Jr. brings the beloved story of the animal-speaking doctor to life through music, movement, and adventure, offering a rich, collaborative theater experience from rehearsal to performance.

Meet the Director:
Katy Garvin, Henley High School Band Director and Klamath County School District Music Coordinator, leads the camp with extensive experience in music education and youth theater productions including Beauty and the Beast Jr., Willy Wonka Jr., and The Lion King Jr.
Spring Break Theater Camp: Alice in Wonderland
This one-week Spring Break camp brings Alice in Wonderland to life through a fast-paced, full production led by Missoula Children’s Theatre. Students from Kindergarten through age 18 audition on Monday, rehearse throughout the week on the Ragland stage, and perform a complete show by Saturday—learning acting fundamentals, teamwork, and stage experience along the way. Younger students and teens can perform on stage, while older participants have the opportunity to serve as assistant directors and gain behind-the-scenes leadership experience.

Dates: March 24–28, 2025 (Spring Break)
Time: 8:30am–1:00pm
Performances: Saturday, March 29 at 3:00pm and 5:30pm
Tuition: $175 (multi-student discounts and scholarships available)
Age Groups:
Group 1: Kindergarten–Age 7 (on-stage performers)
Group 2: Ages 8–8th Grade (on-stage performers)
Group 3: Ages 12–18 (assistant directors, limited spots)
Costumes, props, and staging are provided, creating a complete theatrical experience in just one week. Registration for Spring Break Theater Camp is now open.
Little Sprouts Summer Theater Camp
Little Sprouts Camps are one-week theater experiences designed for children in grades K–4 (ages 6–10), offering a playful introduction to acting, music, and movement in a supportive group setting. Campers work together to create and perform a short mini-show for the community, building confidence, creativity, and teamwork along the way.
This summer’s production, Stone Dragon Stew by Brian Cox, follows the villagers of Nearhere as they face a rock-dropping dragon and discover that clever thinking can be just as powerful as bravery. Costumes, staging, and guidance are provided so young performers can focus on learning and having fun.
