The Ross Ragland Theater is excited to announce 3 theater camps to the youth of the basin. The camps are filled with theater games and socially engaging exercises intended to establish and strengthen skills used in the performing arts.
These camps will offer students an opportunity to explore the basics of acting, music, and movement in a fun environment.

Janet’s Planet Astronaut Academy

Dates: Spring Break 2026, Monday-Friday, March 23-27; 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Janet’s Planet Astronaut Academy offers a transformative STEM experience that ignites the imaginations of young learners fostering a deep passion for science, technology, and aerospace. It’s an immersive journey where participants are encouraged to reach for the stars, unravel the mysteries of the cosmos, and unlock the door to limitless possibilities, all while gaining hands-on knowledge and skills that may one day launch them towards the stars. Janet’s Planet Astronaut Academy is a rigorous science and STEM camp with substantial math and writing required.
Our goal is for your students to have an amazing, out-of-this-world experience, but please note that this is not a recreational camp. This camp is intentionally designed to be academically robust for student ages 8-12.

Youth Summer Theater Camp 2026

(For Ages 10-18)

This is a three-week-long all-day camp for different aspects of theater life. This camp goes into a full theater production on the Ragland stage. Not only do they learn about theater etiquette, staging, singing music, and dancing, but we dive into Improv, making sets/props, costumes, tech for sound and video, and backstage crew.

Whether your student wants to be out front on stage and perform, or be behind the scenes and learn what it takes to put the show on, or even learn how to be a Stage Manager, this is the camp for you.

For High School juniors and seniors, we offer an internship on the business side of what it takes to organize, put plans for all the camps in place, and run each camp.

Little Sprouts Summer Theater Camps
(For Ages 6-10)

Little Sprouts Camps will run Monday, July 21st – Friday, July 25th, 2025, with morning and afternoon camps which are suitable for children in grades K-4 (ages 6-10). This camp offers 2 one-week camps, allowing the tiniest of thespians to explore the basics of acting, music, and movement as a team in a fun environment and to perform a mini-show for the community.

Meet the Director

Katy Garvin is the band director at Henley High School and the Klamath County School District Music Coordinator. She has earned a master’s in music education from the American Band College of Central Washington University and her primary instrument is flute/piccolo. Katy has done several Youth Theatre Camps as Music Director including Beauty and the Beast Jr, Willy Wonka Jr. and The Lion King Jr. Katy can be found spending her free time with her husband, Trevor, and their fur babies: Rosemary (German Shepherd), Nyx (black cat) and Lux (white cat).

Box Office: Tuesday – Wednesday, 2 PM – 6 PM
